Romeo and Juliet Press Excerpts:
"Jennifer Lafleur's Juliet is thrilling to watch. She's no shrinking violet, and though both she and Romeo start out as inexperienced children, both develop an inner strength and resolve that keeps us wrapped up in their world. Juliet's debate over whether to take Friar Lawrence's potion was never so frightening."
Terry Byrne, Boston Herald
"Jennifer Lafleur as Juliet is exquisite. She is loving, exuberant, a little bratty, and a little spoiled in her scenes with her childhood nurse... and later with Romeo she alternates between teasing and teeming with joy. As fate and the warring families conspire against her and she must choose between life without Romeo or death, Lafleur’s Juliet becomes a woman of conviction and determination. She is the foundation upon which this production is built, and her performance is rock solid. " Jan Nargi, Broadway World
"As the star-crossed lovers, Lucas Hall and Jennifer Lafleur are young enough to be credible and yet have the acting skills to make the "Shakespearean-ness" of the play instantly disappear. Both have a directness, an emotional transparency, that lets us see them as real young people, with all the overwhelming emotions of adolescence... Lafleur has plenty of starry-eyed girlishness, and yet at the same time the intelligence, emotional fire and moral courage to elevate the play from soap opera to tragedy."
Jon Lehman, The Patriot Ledger
"Lafleur is quite good as Juliet, brimming with innocence yet filled with a fiery determination to follow her heart."
Nick Dussault, Metro
"Rick Lombardo has done very well with his two young professionals, who've found ways to conjure up the star-crossed lovers and make their juvenile passion believable and their versifying creditable. Lucas Hall and Jennifer Lafleur manage to sound very much like young romantics who don't quite understand the dangers their flights of fancy have led them into. This adds to the poignancy of their fate... Her breathy teenage impatience with the world is engaging... and handles verse with speed and clarity, one of the hallmarks of this production."
Will Stackman, Theatre Mirror
"Stirringly acted by the fine, large and accomplished cast with strong performances by Lucas Hall as the passionate Romeo and Jennifer Lafleur as the spirited Juliet."
Review by Norm Gross, PMP Network
"Lafleur's intense focus on her character is one of the actress's strenths", (director) Lombardo says. "What I discovered about Jennifer when I was directing her... was that she physically and viscerally throws herself into a role."
Maureen Dezell, Boston Globe
"Lombardo had very specific ideas of what he was looking for in his Romeo and Juliet... "Emotionally, intellectually and physically, they have to be the best of us." His search for Juliet took him all the way to New York. And back. Back to his production of "Scapin," in which Jennifer Lafleur played the ingenue. "I auditioned every young actress in Boston and just about every available young actress in New York," he says, "and Jen just kept rising to the top."
Alexander Stevens, Boston Herald/ The Tab

Jennifer is now back in New York City, after Measure for Measure closed last weekend. The show had a fabulous run with rave reviews from audiences and critics alike!
Review Excerpts:
"You simply must go...It's all priceless." Louise Kennedy, Boston Globe
"Brilliant production...unexpected immediacy. This excellent company of actors play it for all their characters are worth." Terry Byrne, Boston Herald
"... as Mariana, Jennifer Lafleur is a lovely, and lovely-sounding, throwback to the lost art of the Ingénue." Carl A. Rossi, Theatre Mirror
"...as Mariana is Jennifer Lafleur, in a touching performance." Steve Vineberg, Boston Phoenix
"Recent Brandeis MFA, Jennifer Lafleur... shines as Mariana." Will Stackman, On The Aisle
"To name outstanding performances would be but to read out the cast-list --- and read it twice, too, for each actor here wears many clothes... There is a notable performance by Jennifer Lafleur who doubles as Claudio's very pregnant girlfriend and Mariana, Angelo's old flame who helps effect his downfall." Theatre Mania
"Among the delights of this production are composer/musician Cameron Willard's haunting, rock-ish setting of the Shakespeare song, and Jennifer Lafleur's passionate singing of it. I believed for a moment that I really was in a seedy and seamy nightclub." Jon Lehman, The Patriot Ledger
"Jennifer Lafleur first appears as a knocked-up fiancee, Juliet, and later as Mariana, Angelo’s sub rosa wife – who, astoundingly yet convincingly, cares for the closet cad... Leave your schoolroom notions of Shakespeare behind, as artistic director Benjamin Evett’s brilliant ensemble has done, and you’ll find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat." Sandy MacDonald, EDGE Boston

April 30- May 30, 2004 Jennifer will be appearing as Hyacynthia in the new musical translation of "Scapin" by Moliere at New Repertory Theatre.
Review Excerpts:
"The young lovers are the true high point of the show... As Hyacinthia, Jennifer Lafleur is an effervescent soubrette with terrific presence, timing, and a voice that should take her anywhere she wants to go." Sandy MacDonald, Theatre Mania
"Jennifer Lafleur is a find - adept with comedy, blessed with a pleasing
singing voice and beautiful. Local audiences will be the winner if she
decides to stay in the area after finishing her MFA in acting at Brandeis."
Alexander Stevens, Metro West News
"Among the hand-picked, sparkling ensemble, I particularly enjoyed Jennifer
Lafleur as the ditzy object of his affections..." Carl A Rossi, Theatre
Mirror
"Hyacinthia, played by an aptly namely comedienne, Jennifer Lafleur, combines
the traditional ingenue with a touch of Valley Girl to make one ditzy
heroine." Will Stackman, AISLE SAY Boston
"Even when the material isn't funny, the cast is... Jennifer Lafleur is a
daffy Marie Antoinette hovering on hysteria" Carolyn Clay, Boston Phoenix
